A poet can only write about that which he feels strongly
Which is why it is so hard to write love poems

To write a love poem, one must be in love
And we all know how hard that is

To write an ode to a one-night stand
Will rightfully come across as crass and insincere

A poem addressed to a true love, well…
I wouldn’t know what one looked like

I may have read one already
But somehow I don’t think there are too many out there

Just a lot of red roses and blue violets
Even though violets are actually violet

Don’t pull that over on your lover though
Otherwise things might get violent
